"Falling/fallen away" was what I used to hear regarding those who stopped attending meetings etc.

Arguing with Witnesses vs Trinitarians
by schnell ini have always been told as a jw that trinitarians, particularly baptists, are just the worst people to argue with out in service.
i have always been told it was the world with a veil over their eyes.
the hypocritical irony is that so many witnesses are completely stubborn and willing to believe in magic before they believe anything against their dogma.

Unitarianism, binitarianism, or trinitarianism? It's as easy as 1,2,3! :)

I have been doing some research and JWS are the true religion :0D
by Deltawave ini apologise for the sarcastic title, lol.
so anyways i have been doing some research over the years and it would seem that evidence can be gathered to support any claim a person can make.
evolutionists see evidence of evolution, creationists see evidence of creation and each religion can find an excuse to call itself the true religion.

Thanks to the information tsunami of the internet, it has become clear that there are opposing, qualified experts for virtually every topic or discipline. We can choose which experts we think sounds more credible.
Examples; Kinder surprise eggs do/don't contain carcinogens; homeopathy does/doesn't have beneficial results; butter/margarine is bad for you.

Taking the Step
by beardfreedom infirst time posting after years of reading, the things i have learned here have gradually helped to open my eyes to the reality of this religion.
though i have been mentally out for some time, lately i have stopped going to meetings and service.
the elders are calling and i have been ignoring them, i am trying to get up the courage to finally break free and never go back.

Welcome BeardFreedom.
As Freddo said - take things slowly and easy if you want to fade.
Best wishes for a pain-free exit!
You have a P.M.

Something funny about Armageddon
by evilApostate inyears ago, when i was still a publisher, i had a very interesting conversation with a lady in the field service.
we were talking about punishment for sin and so on.
she believed in hellfire.

"Therefore, when one dies, he pays for all his sins and hence can recieve a resurrection."
This is based on the org's perverted and nonsensical literal interpretation of Romans 6:7.
If J.W.'s would read the surrounding verses - 2,4,6,8,10, & 11 - they'd immediately see it's a figurative context. Especially verses 2 & 11.

Your work is not in vain! Thank You!
by de-opresso-liber inbeen lurking since early this year.
there are many of us out there (at least in this area, central u.s.) who are waking up and crossing the line to talk to each other about it.
in our area, several elders, ministerial servants and pioneers are actively and openly sharing info with each other daily.

Where in the Bible is the memorial described as a "FREE PUBLIC EVENT?"
Where in the Bible is the memorial described as a being essentially for spectators & "interested ones" - people who have been invited to "commemorate" Jesus' death - but who are then directed to reject the offer of the bread & wine?
Satanic memorial indeed!

Thanksgiving??
by HereIgo inwith thanksgiving around the corner, i thought it would be interesting to hear how you, your family or other jw's you knew handled/celebrated thanksgiving.
it seems to me that most jw's view it as harmless and unofficially celebrate it the day before or the day after the actual holiday.
growing up, my mother would host a dinner the day after thanksgiving and used the excuse " well the traditional food for the dinner is discounted at this time, might as well have a dinner".

1 Step Forward and 3 Steps Back: Trying to Get My Mom to See 'The Light' (Oh the Irony!)
by Sorry inrecently, my mother's been hounding me to do personal study (i think she's slowly realizing i'm becoming disillusioned with the organization and is trying to reign me back in).
i don't know what made me do this, but i decided to test the waters by challenging 'new light'.
she asked me what i learned in personal study, so i brought up organ transplants and the wt flip floppy stance on them (thanks jwfacts!).

I feel that your situation is a prime reason why the org is pushing their latest propaganda - "the G.B. is not inspired - they're imperfect men who have admitted their errors in the past and have updated the "truth" when Jehovah revealed it to them."
This drivel is what J.W.'s are being fed as "spiritual food from the slave" in order to fend off the ever-increasing exposure of the org's anti-scriptural teachings.
Be prepared to hear it being parroted by a Witness near you.
